"I have added a lot of pictures but I went from now to when they started the process of getting the floor ready to go. It is so pretty and will add to the shelter by being durable and easy to clean. Thanks Friend Dickinson and Geret for the wonderful floor" - Terry Duffield
F.A.Q. Q: Why should I register?
A: Each registration fee helps provide second chances for the homeless pets at Adopt-A-Dog Animal Rescue in Chappell, Nebraska. Q: When is the Doggie Dash? A: The Doggie Dash is on Saturday, May 2, 2015, at the Chappell Pool Park. The fun begins at 10 a.m. Q: If I have registered and am walking my dog, is it OK if my husband comes along? A: Registration for the event is per person, not per dog, so if your spouse or other family member wants to walk with you, registration is necessary. Q: I want to form a Doggie Dash team. What is the registration fee per member? A: Registration for the event is $25 per team member ($30 per member, the day of event) Q: Is my Doggie Dash registration fee tax deductible? A: Unfortunately, no. The Internal Revenue Service considers entry fees for charitable races and walks to be similar to tickets to sports games, gala events or theater performances—it is the price paid for attending and participating. Since it is considered an entertainment fee, it is not tax deductible. However, although the registration fee is not tax deductible, anything donated above and beyond that fee is. Also, any donation made to support a Doggie Dash participant is tax deductible. Q: Where is parking available? A: Parking is available on the streets surrounding the park. Q: When may I pick up my goodies? A: The Doggie Dash T-shirt and Doggie Bag will be available at the check in table the day of the event, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Q: I’m a cat lover. Do I have to bring a dog to walk or may I come by myself? A: You don’t have to walk a dog in order to participate in the event. We welcome cat lovers! You might consider walking in honor of your cat by pinning a photo of your cat to your shirt. Q: What if I wasn't able to pick up my goodie bag on event day? A: It is highly recommended that you pick up your goodie bag on event day to ensure you receive your desired size of t-shirt. If you were unable to pick up your items on event day, please call Terry Duffield at 308-566-0208 to arrange a pickup time. Goodie Bags are not available before event day. Our volunteers, and board members have been working hard to get this project completed and everyone that is involved with the shelter have been absolutely fantastic and caring. We at Adopt-A-Dog want people to know we are still along way from completing, but appreciate everyone that has helped us get this far. And could really use the help and resources to help with this much needed shelter completed. THANKS Keil Velasco, and Jeppson Service for everything, we are getting there because you all care
Only two more pours to go.
These guys rock, up early and working very hard to get this job done and behind them. They are very good and I love how they work with us during these pours and setting them up. This is some of the things that have been done in the past few weeks. And these guys are still working on the cement everyday. It is looking so great and keeps moving forward towards our goal. Floyd and Christopher Stegeman put the water in and we have running water now. Thanks all you guys
Kelli Obrian came from Omaha to present Adopt-A-dog a $10,000.00 dollar check. It was such a great time, we visited with Kelli and had the news papers there to help us celebrate this event. Can check out the site at up.com Kelli is the Dir. of Public Affair NE - IA. This was an awesome day and it is helping us to step forward with the project at hand, to hopefully get the cement poured and drains and sewer lines put in. We sure could use more help and more donations to finish this shelter, with your help we can all get it up and running.
